Intranet Development

Here’s something any business could use:

A simple, centralized way for all employees to stay current on news, special events, schedules, memos, company directory updates, HR forms (like vacation request forms, insurance forms, and so on), income tax forms, bulletin boards… all that fun stuff.

You could pay someone to email all that stuff any time anyone needs it. What a waste. What a pain! You could develop a local area network, but whenever someone’s at a convention, working from home, on a sales call, or needed while out of town, they’re off the grid entirely… and it’s back to old-fashioned email.

Solution: develop an intranet.

An intranet is a private computer network. It is what it sounds like: a small version of the Internet that you control access to. It’s a network of web sites that are all within your company’s control. (Think of intra as in intramural sports: sports played by teams within the same school, not different schools.) Your team can still use their normal web browsers, plus use the regular Internet. They’ll just have special permission to use your organization’s intranet, whether working at the office or from elsewhere.

Sounds perfect, right?

Well, you need to develop an intranet system that’s mighty enough to meet your needs… but doesn’t break your bank. Yep, intranets can be very costly.

Fortunately, Drupal is perfect for all kinds of intranet purposes. Of course it is! And ENGINE knows how to best take advantage. Of course we do. Contact ENGINE and let’s get to work!
